He proudly owned Rhue Construction Company, where he worked diligently to assist numerous families in moving their homes throughout Carteret County. Known for his inventive spirit, Doy Ray was a natural jack of all trades, able to fix and repair anything that came his way with remarkable skill.

Doy Ray had a unique fascination with the world around him and enjoyed collecting a variety of items that reflected his interests and passions. His contributions and unique personality will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Doy Ray will be remembered as a devoted fiancé, proud father, and supportive grandfather.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Stephanie Murray of Beaufort, NC; brothers, Alvin Thomas Rhue (Sandra) of Beaufort, NC and Suthy Wayne Rhue of New Bern, NC; grandson, Michael Rhue of Girdwood, AK; and his sidekick, his dog Coat “Pocket”.

In addition to his parents, Doy Ray was preceded in death by his son, Doy Ray Rhue Jr.; and brother, Albert Lee Rhue.
