Dorothy "Dottie" (Klein) Whitehead

Dorothy "Dottie" Whitehead, 67, of Broad Creek , passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at her home.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Holmes officiating.
Mrs. Dottie participated in American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and was a 6 year cancer survivor. She loved playing Bingo and spending time with her family. She was a mother not only to her own children, but also to her grandkids, niece, nephews and neighborhood kids and always supported their school functions and sporting events. Her family will always remember she loved cooking so much, that she caught her kitchen on fire twice. She enjoyed dog-sitting her "grand-puppies" Layla and KD.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Eddie Whitehead of the home; two children, Karen Jones and Tommy Whitehead both of Broad Creek; three grandchildren, Jesse Haywood Creech, III, Sierra Lacey Jones and Hailey Morgan Whitehead; two sisters, Barbara Symons and Jeanie Leary; sister-in-law, Kim Malbon; two brothers, James Klein and Richard Klein; niece, Erin Klein; and six nephews, Justin Klein, Johnny Coit, Eric Leary, Chad Leary, Michael Klein and Gary Klein.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Madilyn Klein.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr, Greenville, NC 27834.
