Dorothy Mae MacLean

Dorothy Mae MacLean, 79, of Raleigh, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

Her graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 5th, 2018, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon, NC .

She was born June 27, 1939 in Long Island, New York, to Elwood and Dorothy Ehlers.

Dorothy spent her later years in Raleigh and eastern North Carolina, volunteering at St. Andrews Episcopal Thrift Store in Morehead City, NC.

Surviving are her five children, Marc Carey of Anaheim, CA, Brian Carey and wife Kelly of Summerville, SC,  Denise Brown and husband Joseph of Aiken, SC, John MacLean and wife Tina of Knightdale, NC, and Trevor MacLean of Madison, GA; four grandsons, Michael Brown, Dustin Brown, Shane Carey and Jayden MacLean; two granddaughters, Amanda Carey and Kristen Sergot-Carey; two great-granddaughters, Arya and Quinn Brown; one brother, Robert Ehlers and wife Diana; one nephew, Scott Ehlers; one niece, Joanne Pomnitz.
