Dorothy Jean Kodroff (Gardiner) 60, of New Bern, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 after suffering a prolonged illness. She was originally from Philadelphia, PA.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Wilson Pierce and son in law Michael E. Pierce Sr. of Havelock, NC; son, Richard Dean Wilson Jr. of Trevose, PA; grandchildren, Briana Nicole Courtney (Nee' Wheeler) and husband Lcpl Shaun Courtney of Oceanside, CA, and Michael E. Pierce Jr.; brothers, William Robert Gardiner, James Marion Gardiner Jr. and wife JoAnn from PA; along with several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Frances Dixon Gardiner and James Marion Gardiner Sr.
She was a shining star whose light was extinguished far too soon.
