Dorothy Dixon Hobart,73, of Stella, passed away quietly on Sunday, August 14th.
Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, NY, August 12th 1938 to proud parents Gwendoline and Arthur Eric Dixon. She was married to Floyd Hobart, her loving and gracious husband of 51 years.
She is survived by children: Trish and Mick Kinney of Newport and Floyd Hobart of Stella; Grandchildren: Robert and Brandy Kinney of KY, Danial Voorhis of Stella, Gwendoline and Timothy O’Brien of Swansboro, Michelle and Kristen Jackson of Tampa, Christopher, Jessica and Erika Hobart of Stella,Nicholas Kinney of Newport, as well as Samantha and Brian Dunbar of Port Charlotte; Great Granddaughter: Lauren O’Brien. Extended family to include: Maurice Jackson of Tampa, Catherine Hobart of Stella, and Jay Dunbar of Port Charlotte.
She was predeceased by Daughters: Elizabeth Ann Jackson and Susan Mary Peterson; Granddaughters: Dorothy Carol Peterson and Amber Nicole Kinney, as well as niece Margaret Thompson.
Dorothy is also survived by a wonderful big sister Eileen Dixon Thompson, nephew John Eric Thompson and nephew Arthur Thompson and his wife Jennifer all of Wayne, NJ.
Donations may be made to Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild Kids Carving Program, Harkers Island Road Harkers Island, NC. The family will be having a private service at Munden Funeral Home on Tuesday August 16th.
