Dorothy "Dottie" L. Fleming

Dorothy “Dottie” L. Fleming, 91, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

A memorial service to honor Dottie’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 13th at Munden Funeral Home. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Dottie was born on June 3, 1933, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Robert and Eva Pittman. She shared a beautiful life with her late husband, Al, in Bloomsbury, New Jersey, where they lovingly raised their family.

Upon returning to her roots in Carteret County, Dottie became an active member of Franklin Memorial Methodist Church and the Chamber of Commerce. She was known for her exceptional skills in gardening, which reflected her love for working with her hands.

Dottie will be cherished as a devoted wife of 62 years, a wonderful mother, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her kindness and dedication to her family and community will always be remembered.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Doug Fleming and wife Nancy of Cedar Point, NC; brothers, Robert Pittman and wife Carmen Rodriguez of Greenville, NC, and Thomas Pittman and wife Nancy of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Alexa Fleming, Pam Byrd and husband Dave and Kristin Fleming and her partner Brian Dionne; and great-grandchildren, Michael Byrd, Joshua Byrd, Anna Grace Byrd, Brady Dionne, Vivian Dionne, and Virginia Dionne.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2016, Albert “Al” Stanley Fleming; sister, Sadie Quidley; brother, James Pittman; son Brian Fleming and his wife Ginny; and grandson, Brian Fleming Jr.
