Doris Borden (Bell) Willis

Doris Bell Willis of Beaufort passed away peacefully on December 13, 2014.

The visitation and funeral service will be on Saturday, December 20th, held at First Freewill Baptist Church in Beaufort with visitation at 1pm and service at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

She was born April 6, 1921, in Newport, North Carolina, daughter of the late William Bell and Isa Dora Prescott Bell. In addition to her parents, her husband, Dalton Willis, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Tim and Janet Willis; four grandchildren, Lauren, Matt, Emily and Eric; and twin great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Grayson; all of Raleigh. She is also survived by many extended family members who have faithfully cared for her over many years.

Doris grew up in Newport, NC in a large, very close family. She married and moved to Beaufort where she was an active member of Beaufort First Freewill Baptist Church for over 70 years. She taught Sunday School and was involved with mission projects over many years.

The family has requested instead of flowers to donate to her church, First Freewill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2069, Beaufort, NC 28516, attention Doris Willis Memorial Fund.
