Doris (Waters) Hughes

Doris Waters Hughes, 96, of Newport, passed away Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Croatan Ridge Nursing Facility.
There will be a receiving of friends 5:00-7:00 Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
She is survived by a son Walter Hughes and wife Linda of Newport: daughter Katherine Sturm and husband Harold of Augusta, GA: grandchildren Tammy Pierce of Orlando, FL, Angela Hughes of Newport, NC, and Melissa Johnson of Newport, NC: and great grandchildren Peyton Johnson, Jessica Pierce, and Jade Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sgt. Major (Ret) Walter Hughes, and granddaughter Robin Hughes.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Newport North Carolina PO Box 357 Newport, NC 28570.
