Dorcas Ann (McCoy) Stanley

Dorcas Ann McCoy Stanley, 69, of Newport, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Thursday at Reece's Chapel with Rev. Chadwick and Bob Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at Amariah Garner Cemetery.
She was a loving and generous mother, Maw Maw, and friend. Being of a descendant of the infamous Hatfield and McCoy's of West Virginia, she was a granddaughter of the late Maggie Hatfield McCoy and DJ (Dock) McCoy.
She is survived by her children Danita Mercer Jacobs and husband Thomas, Charles Jeffrey Mercer and wife Vickie, Tabatha Mae Mercer, Gladys Mercer Pittman and husband Dennis all of Newport: stepchildren are Janet Lynn Locklear and husband Tom, Kenneth Allen Stanley and wife Vonda all of Ohio: grandchildren are Michael Blake Mercer, Sara Haas, Dennis Pittman Jr., Adam Keith Pittman, Brandon Scott Mercer, Samantha Ann Mercer, Brooke Leigh Stanley, Brett Thomas Jacobs, Garrett Scott Jacobs, Dylan Free Swigart, Brandon Tyler Stanley, Rusty James Mercer, Matt Locklear, Jennie Locklear, and Chrissy Locklear: great grandchildren Ranayah Mitchell, Anthony Noy Phommaratha, Isaiah Mitchell, Isabella Renee Phommaratha, Lilliana Locklear, Lucas Locklear, and Cody Raymond Mercer: also surviving cousins Rupert Varney and wife Marilyn of Virginia, George Grimmett and wife Sharon of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Stanley.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
