Donald “Donnie” Eugene Henry, a resident of Emerald Isle, NC; passed away peacefully at the age of 70 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House on November 8, 2016 at 10:50am following a courageous battle with cancer.

Donald Henry, Son of Etta Jane Henry and Earle Leroy Henry was born on June 10, 1946 at Saint Leo’s Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. Donnie was a man who always treated everyone he met with genuine love and respect. The amazing love that he felt for his family and friends is beyond description. He had a smile and laugh that spread happiness to people around him, without ever having to say a word. The only thing that could come close to rivaling Don’s Smile was his striking blue eyes. If you never had the opportunity to meet him, you could ask any lady that was acquainted with him to get what would certainly be a detailed description of his blue eyes. Don also knew the value of honest hard work. He took great pride in turning a piece of undeveloped property into a home for many people in Emerald Isle, NC. That certainly doesn’t mean that Don was all work and no play. When he wasn’t at work he loved riding his Harley Davidson with friends, spending time on the boat with family, and watching Bogue Sound from his recliner. Donnie will forever be missed and loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Donnie is survived by his Wife Cindy Slaughter Henry, his Daughter Kimberly Dawn Henry, Grandson Hunter Dillon Henry, Granddaughter Erica Dawn Henry Miller, Brother in Law Steve Horace Slaughter, Nephew Shane Slaughter and his Wife Christie Slaughter, Niece Stephanie Slaughter and niece Patricia Routh and her Husband Jimmy, as well as his longtime friend and companion Willie Henry and many beloved Nephews and Nieces.

Don Henry was preceded in death by his parents Etta Jane Henry and Earle Leroy Henry, Brother Earl Maness, Brother Carl Maness, Brother Howard Maness, Brother Ronnie Henry and Sister Ruth Robbins.

Funeral Services will be provided by Munden Funeral Home at 2112 Arendell Street in Morehead City, NC 28557.
