Donna Lee Reels

Donna Lee Reels, 66, of Merriman passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home, in Morehead City with Military Honors with Pastor William Ellison officiating. Interment will follow to Carteret Memorial Gardens.

Don honorably served in the US Army. He was a member of Queen Street Missionary Baptist church, an ordained Evangelist Minister, born 12-27-1949. He worked at Beaufort Fishery as a Welder, then later worked in Louisiana at Mega Protein. After retiring in 2010 he became closer to the lord. He started becoming what his mother told him he was destined to be which, was a Minister.

He is survived by his three daughters, Melodie Reels, Queena Washington, and Jerilyn Dudlye; three grandchildren, Michael, Victoria and Isabella; one sister, Rena Reels Murray; six brothers, Elijah Reels and wife Sadie of Adams Creek, NC, Abel Reels and wife Mary of North River, NC, Alonza Reels and wife Pat of Havelock, NC, Rayfield Reels, Calvin Jr, and Terence Reels and wife Pammie of North River, NC; six aunts, Margaret Crooms of North River, NC, Jeanette Walks of Teavenworth, KS, Alice Reels of North River, NC, Gertrude Reels of Merriman, NC, Classie Curtis of Philadelphia, and Nancy Benders of North River, NC; Two uncles, Elibue Murrell and wife Mary of Morehead City, NC and Artis Benders and wife Rita of North River, NC; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Reels Sr. and Hattie Murrell Reels; one brother, Joe Fisher and wife Dora; two brothers- in- law, Calvin Lee Murray Sr. and Odell Benders.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home, Morehead City. NC 28557.
