Donald Ray Mansfield, 83 , of Morehead City, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
Mr. Mansfield was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Ocean Lodge # 405 AF & AM, and the Sudan Temple.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday in St. Peter's United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Stallsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Mansfield of the home; daughter, Karen Gray and husband Ron of Earlysville, VA; son, Donald Ray Mansfield, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Morehead City; granddaughter, Kelly Mansfield; grandson, Evan Gray and wife Amanda; sister-in-law, Alice Mansfield of Kinston; brother-in-law, James Ross, II of Morehead City and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Carrie Mansfield; sisters, Mildred Ross, Davetta Ball, and Catherine Davenport; brother, Sheridan Mansfield; and brothers- in-law, Clyde Ball and Robert Davenport.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ocean Lodge # 405, AF & AM, for the Masonic Home for Children, PO Box 675, Morehead City, NC 28557 or to St. Peter's United Methodist Church Building Fund, 111 Hodges St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
