Donald Hadder

Donald Hadder, 82 , of Gloucester, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Marshallberg Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Simpson and Johnny Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Straits United Methodist Church Cemetery with military and Masonic Rites.

Mr. Hadder retired from Cherry Point, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of Marshallberg Baptist Church, and a member of Crissie Wright Lodge # 741 in Smyrna. He loved fishing. He was a great husband, father and loved his grandchildren who knew him as "Papa".

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lola Yates Hadder of the home; son, Keith Hadder of Gloucester; two daughters, Patsy Dudley and husband Ricky and Pamela Jean Lewis and husband Bobby all of Beaufort; five grandchildren, Kristy, Ricky, Jordan, Glen and Dana; six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Collin, Bryan, Kayla, Layla and Patrick; sister, Mary Thomas of Straits; also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Ray Hadder, daughter, Janet Carol Hadder, parents, Ulma Chancey and Daisy Boyd Hadder, and three siblings.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Marshallberg Baptist Church.
