Dolores Elizabeth Detig

Dolores (Dolly) Elizabeth Detig, age 78, of Morehead City, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, was called home by her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Dolly is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 28 years, Frank, and 3 loving sons, Larry, Bob (Anna Jean), and Jim (Georgetta), and 2 much loved grandchildren, Bobby and Mandy, as well as 6 step-children, 11 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandbaby, Caden, also her brother, Albert, Edward, and step-sister, Margie, all of whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary (Sakius) Weathers, brother, Robert and step-brother, John. Dolly was a blessing to all who knew her, always smiling, cheerful and compassionate to those in need. She will be greatly missed by all!
Dolly and Frank, together with Frank's sister, Dorothy Clemens, moved to Morehead City in 1998 and enjoyed many travels and adventures that they pursued together. Dolly and Dorothy were very close friends and delighted in bowling, bingo and saving quarters for their annual trip to Tennessee.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Crystal Bluffs Rehab and Carteret General Hospital for their loving care and kindness shown to her and Frank over the past several years.
A visitation and prayer service will be held Sunday from 1-4 pm at Munden Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Dolly's life will be held at St. Egberts Catholic Church at 11 am on Monday with Father Thomas R. Davis officiating.
