Dixie J. Mann

Dixie June Mann, 94, of Newport, went to be with her Lord, on Sunday, October 21, 2012.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Supple officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
She was born August 20, 1918, and graduated from Newport High School in 1936. In 1937, she married Glenn Curtis Mann of Newport, NC. They went to Greensboro, NC to reside and work until 1983. Dixie was a valued employee at Greensboro Country Club for many years. At retirement, Dixie and Glenn returned to Newport.
Dixie was the first-born daughter of Cecil and Theresa Marshall Mann. She was preceded in death by siblings, Cecil Elbert Mann, Lorraine Mann Merrill, John Carey Mann, Mary Emily Mann Fuller and Shirley Phyllis Mann. Her husband, Glenn, died in 2002.
Dixie is survived by a brother, Jason D. Mann, Sr. of Greensboro, sister, Judith Mann Hartford and brother, Garrison Mann, both of Newport, and numerous nieces and nephews..
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
