Dixie Jean (Cannady) Barefoot

Dixie Jean Cannady Barefoot, 74, of Newport, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Carolina East Medical Center.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Broad Creek Church of God, officiated by Reverend Robbie Strickland. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.

She is survived by her sisters, Thelma Arnold of Broad Creek and Marguerite Gillikin of Smyrna and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce “Buddy” Barefoot; parents, William and Bedie Cannady; brother, Albert Cannady; and sister, Beth Palma.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Broad Creek Church of God.
