In Loving Memory of Dietlinde Noles
Linde Noles, a devoted wife, mother, and proud Oma, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Germany on November 1, 1942, she spent most of her early life near Budingen. She married Sergeant Joe Noles, US Army and soon after immigrated to the United States with her new husband and two children.
Linde spent the next 20 years proudly serving her adopted country as a US Army wife. She managed the household as the family moved to Ft. Carson, CO, Ft. Sill, OK, Ft. Bragg, NC, and Germany. She performed the expected duties of an officer’s wife, including jumping out of a 30 ft 82nd Airborne training tower! Linde comforted and bolstered the family when Joe served in combat in Vietnam and later in South Korea. Linde loved her life in the military and made lifelong friends she revered.
Linde’s love extended to her four children, Joe Noles Jr. and daughter-in-law Lee McLaughlin of Belle Mead, NJ, Anita Kahr of Morehead City, the late Glenn Noles and Norman Noles, and her sister Christa Mehlwitz of Hanau, Germany. Her legacy lives on through her six adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen, and Jake Kahr of Mendham, NJ, JT Kahr of Houston, TX, Elizabeth Noles of Philadelphia, PA, and Samuel Noles of Los Angeles, CA.
Linde and Joe built their cherished home on Bogue Sound in Emerald Isle over 30 years ago and since then delighted in hosting family and friends. The parties, celebrations, sunsets, and many days at the beach will not be forgotten.
A pillar of strength, Linde created a warm and inviting home, where laughter echoed through the years. She found joy in strolls along the shore and cherished her Thursdays at the Beer Den, sharing camaraderie with dear friends.
Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love that she so generously gave during her remarkable journey.
A memorial service to honor Dietlinde’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 17th at Munden Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life event will follow at the Cape Emerald Clubhouse.
