Diana Barnes James

Diana Barnes James of Wilson and Morehead City, NC, passed away on April 15, 2024.  

She is survived by her son, David James Jr.; daughter, Pace and her husband John, and their children, James and Mary Louise; niece, Page Smith and her husband Eliot, and their children Thomas and Marie Page; nephew, Allen Thomas Jr. and his family Alicia and Cesar Mendoza and their children; nephew, Tartt Thomas and his children, Laurel, Anna Blair, and Rachel.  She also leaves behind many loving family members and friends, both old and new.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene “Pokie” Barnes Doak and Edwin Tartt Barnes, and her sister, Marie Barnes Thomas.     

In honor of Diana’s wishes, a service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20^th at the Sound on 20^th Street in Morehead City.

A reception, to celebrate her life, will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 23^rd at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Wilson, NC.
