Dennis “Billy “ Smith, 72 of Havelock passed away Monday, February, 1, 2016 at his home peacefully in his sleep.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home with Pastor Billy R.Wingard officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.
“Billy” was of Havelock, NC, born on December17, 1943 to Earnest and Sarah Smith. He was an avid Deer Hunter at Cahooque Creek Hunting Club and Drag Racing enthusiast. He retired from Cherry Point Naval Air Station as a Production Machinery Mechanic in 1998.
He is survived by his wife Ann F. Smith of Havelock, NC; two daughters, Denise Smith and Ronda Bernard both of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Destinee Bernard, D.J. Bernard and Dalaynee Bernard; two brothers, Allen Smith of New Bern and R.B. Smith of Roxboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest William Smith and Sarah Eliza Reaves Smith.
