Deloris (Gillikin) Thompson

Deloris Gillikin Thompson, 84, of Otway, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Otway Christian Church with Rev. Jack Mumford and Rev. Johnnie Bordeaux officiating. Interment will follow at the Lewis Family

Cemetery.

Mrs. Deloris was a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher at Otway Christian Church where she was a member her entire life. She was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern

Star #128 in Beaufort. She was a loving Mother and devoted wife and she had a passion for cooking, especially baking, and taking care of others. Her pride and joy were her family. She

will be greatly missed but remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her three daughters Audrey Revis and husband Russell of Otway; Barbara Burt and husband John of New Bern; Mandy Russell and husband Eddie of Beaufort; sisters

Linda Darnell Davis and husband Michael of Harkers Island and Sheryl Diane Taylor and husband Earl of Newport; and two grandchildren, Leona Mason-Richardson and husband

James of Greenville and Jessica Lucas and husband Chris of Otway. A special thank you to caregivers Pam Morris and Barbara Campbell for all their help.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Melvin R. Thompson; parents Leon and Leona Gillikin and a brother Adolphia Gillikin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Wednesday June 1, 2016 at Otway Christian Church.
