Dean A. Crabtree, 62, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Carolina East Medical Center.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Grace Baptist Church in Newport, officiated by Pastor Clyde I. Eborn. Interment, with military honors, will take place at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Dean was a faithful and loyal American soldier who served in the United States Marine Corps and United States Coast Guard and retired from the United States Army Reserves. His dedication carried through in his personal life as well, with his commitment to the Lord and his church family at Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy E. Crabtree of the home; daughters, Crystal Crabtree of Wake Forrest, NC and Holly Delph and husband Charles of Farmville, NC; son, Jayden Crabtree of the home; sister, Robin Brock and husband Robert of Washington; brothers, Randy Crabtree and wife Vickie of Washington and Scott Crabtree and wife Gloria of West Virginia; and grandchildren, Ariana Delph and Jace Delph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Crabtree and Sharon Tuson.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
