Davie C. Willis, Jr., 51, formerly of Harkers Island, currently of Newport, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in the Summer.

Davie was born on December 5, 1973, in Harkers Island to the late Davie C. Willis, Sr., and Paulette Hancock Brantley. Following high school, Davie pursued his passion for cooking, embarking on a fulfilling career in the culinary arts. Davie worked at several notable establishments, including Ruddy Ducks, Captain’s Choice and Calico Jacks Restaurant, where he shared his love for food and created memorable experiences for many. He also worked at the Outer Island General Store. Davie was a loving husband of nine years, father, and grandfather.

Davie also loved playing video games, playing the guitar, and also was a prankster throughout his life.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Christine Lahoma Willis; son, Jordan Ray Willis of Spring Hope, NC, Dylan Alexander Olivas of Ohio, Dustin M. of Beaufort, NC; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hargett (Jeff Williams) of Havelock, NC; sister, Paula Willis of Harkers Island, NC; grandchildren, Thomas Scott Williams and Isla Grace Williams. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
