David "Dave" McNicol Williams

David "Dave" McNicol Williams, 58, of Straits, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
A memorial service to be announced at a later date.
Mr. Williams graduated West Carteret High School in 1971, St. Andrews College in 1975, and was one of the first Aquarists at Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium after college. He enjoyed all aspects of the water throughout his life. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 28 years, Anita K. Williams of the home; daughter, Lauren Williams and fiance' Travis Saunders of Straits; son, Kyle Williams and girlfriend Jordan Anderson of Kernersville; granddaughter, Lexi "Lexi-Pooh" Cassar-Williams of Straits; uncles, Oliver Williams of Pennsylvania and Hillis Williams of California; also numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Jean Williams.
Lexi-Pooh's sweet farewell to Dave was "it was fun having you grampa."
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his granddaughter, "Lexi-Pooh" Cassar-Williams for her college ensurance fund in care of the State Employees' Credit Union, P O Box 1365, Morehead City, NC 28557.
