David Jones Willis III

David Jones Willis III, 88, formerly of Davis, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his home in Swansboro.

Born on August 28, 1935, in New Bern, North Carolina, he was the son of the late David and Elizabeth Willis.

David proudly served his country as a Paratrooper in the United States Army. His brave service to our Nation reflected his resilience, discipline, and a deep sense of duty.

Outside of his military career, David was a caring family man, deeply devoted to his wife Martha, and their beloved daughter, Phyllis. He embraced his role as a husband and father with fierce commitment and constant support.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Martha Taylor Willis and daughter, Phyllis Willis both of Swansboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Davis Free Will Baptist Church, 279 Community Rd, Davis, NC, 28524.
