David Earl Smith

David Earl Smith, 63, of Newport, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Smith was a  U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Republic of Vietnam, and Bamberg, Germany. He worked at Guy C Lee Builders for approximately 25 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Winberry. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife Alexis A. Smith; children, Billie D. Harvey of Newport, David Wayne Smith, Pauline Parrish, and Maryanne Smith all of Lawton, OK; sisters Edna Faye Wooten of Newport, Delores A. Easter of Morehead City, and Janice M. Chadwick of Beaufort; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Edna E. Smith, father Odis A. Smith, daughter Tammy Sue Ballard, and brother Milton Wayne Smith.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday at Munden Funeral Home.
