David Sean Willis, 54, of Red Springs, NC passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC after a brief struggle with bile duct cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. Jack Colenda.
David was born October 3, 1963, at Sea Level Hospital in Sea Level, NC, son of the late Julian Francis and Betty Stanley Willis. He was a 1982 graduate of Jacksonville Senior High School. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from N.C. State University in Raleigh in 1988 and was a licensed Professional Engineer since 1999. He loved being an engineer, and at the time of his death was working for KCI Technologies. Over the course of his career, he also worked for PWC for the City of Fayetteville, Lumbee River EMC in Red Springs, Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, Choptank Electric Cooperative, and Carteret Craven EMC. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Red Springs.
David is survived by his sister, Melanie Willis, and brother-in-law, Arturo Perez-Canto of Clayton; aunt, Mildred Willis Gilgo of Atlantic; uncles, George Stanley and wife Nancy of Laurel, MS and Thomas Leroy Stanley and wife April of Houston, TX; and many cousins, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.
