David Edward Paden

David Edward Paden, 76, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Croatan Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

David was born on August 28, 1948, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Clarence and Dorothy Paden. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Coast Guard, exemplifying dedication and commitment to his country. 

David's educational journey took him from East Carteret High School to East Carolina University, and ultimately to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his master’s degree. His pursuit of knowledge was a testament to his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.

Blessed with 40 years with his sweetheart, Charlotte, his devotion and care for her was his main priority. They were affectionately known as the “Love Birds of Piver Road,” a reflection of their deep devotion for one another.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his sister, Melinda Paden Dean of Beaufort, NC and step-daughter, Cyndi Budacz.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Paden.
