David Garner-McGraw, 64, of Emerald Isle, died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Western Park Community Center in Cedar Point.
David is survived by a devoted wife and life partner, Jo Ann Garner-McGraw, and five wonderful children: Vicky, Ali, Michael, Lindsay, and Travis. David was a doting father full of humor, intelligence, love and kind words, which is reflected in his loving, kind, and thriving children.
He is also survived by his mother, Miriam McGraw of Whiteville, NC; and siblings John Peters of Denver, CO; Dennis McGraw of Chapel Hill, NC; Darren McGraw of Whiteville, NC, Darryl McGraw of Raleigh, NC, Daniel McGraw of Hickory, NC; and Toni Coats of Salemburg, NC. He was preceded in death by his sister Jackie Beinert of Tampa, Fl.
Dave devoted much of his life to caring for children. In his professional role as a speech and language pathologist or as coach of his children’s soccer teams, Coach Dave touched the lives of many families around the Crystal Coast. His understanding tone and patient demeanor will be sorely missed by his soccer teams, his students at school, and his loving family.
