David G. Field

David G. Field, 84, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, June 5­, 2018 at Croatan Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Annunciation Catholic Church, officiated by Father Bill Upah. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

David retired in 1990 from Cornell University as the Comptroller. He moved to the Crystal Coast where he worked for Morehead Marine. He enjoyed spending time with family and being on the water.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Field, of the home; son, Kenneth David Field and wife, Samantha, of Newport; sister, Jeffery O’Neil and husband, Pete, of Sayville, NY; and grandchildren, Patrick David Field, Garret Vaughn Field and Kacey Jane Field.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marion Field; brother-in-law, John Kreye, Sr.; and sister, Gaynor Kreye.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Annunciation Catholic Church.
