GySgt, David Alan Duncan, USMC Retired, 71, of Havelock, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A celebration of David's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20th at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
David was born on March 31, 1951, in Morganton, North Carolina, to the late Ralph and Juanita Duncan. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who honorably served in the United States Marines for 20 years before retiring in 1989. Shortly after entering the military, David married his sweetheart, Kay Toongjan, on November 1, 1973, and they were blessed with 49 years together. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In his spare time, David enjoyed the challenge of working on computers. Searching for and collecting rare coins was another interest, along with being an avid gun collector. And of course, nothing was more relaxing and enjoyable than spending time on the water fishing.
David is survived by his loving wife Kay "Ms. K" Duncan; sons, David Duncan Jr. and wife Robin of Havelock, Kim Duncan and wife Bobbie Jo Bailey of Satsuma, FL, and Carl Duncan of Havelock; brothers, Carl Duncan and wife Ramona, and Bobby Duncan, all of Connelly Springs, NC, and Jeffery Duncan and husband Jim of Asheville, NC; and grandchildren, Octavia Duncan, Bianca Duncan, Sabriel Duncan, Sabrina Duncan, Jesiah Duncan, and Makai Duncan.
