David Paul Craft

David Paul Craft, 41, of Newport, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Carteret Health Care.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. Scott Berry. Interment, with Masonic Rites, will follow at Cannady Cemetery in Newport.

David was a loving and devoted father, husband, son and brother. He was a friend to everyone. He served his community for over 17 ½ years as a Lieutenant Deputy for the Craven County Sherriff’s Office.  David was an avid Aerosmith fan who enjoyed listening to music and playing the drums. He loved being outdoors, having bonfires, and spending time with his family. David was a faithful member of Bern Masonic Lodge. He will truly be missed and has left his mark on this world; he will live forever in the hearts of many.

He is survived by his wife, Tracey Filzen Craft, of the home; daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Craft and Kinslee Page Craft, both of the home; son, Alexander Bruce Craft of the home; mother, Kathy Smith and husband, Johnny, of Zebulon; father, Randall Bruce Craft of Newport; brothers, Randall Keith Craft and wife, Michelle, of Newport, Dennis Ray Craft and wife, Wendy, of Vanceboro; Phillip Wayne Craft of Newport and Donald Alan Craft and wife, Sharon, of Wake Forest; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City
