Darious Parker Ballou, 21, of Morehead City, passed away Saturday July 29, 2017.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church, officiated by Reverend Terry Johnson and Reverend Tim Mariner. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery.

Darious was a graduate of West Carteret High where he was loved by his classmates and teachers.

He is survived by his father, George Ballou and wife Melissa of Morehead City; mother, Caron Thompson and husband Garland of Atlantic Beach; brother, Drew Ballou and wife Lauren of Morehead City; paternal step-grandmother, Jenny Ballou of Morehead City; paternal step-grandparents Butch Cannon and wife Viola of Morehead City; maternal step-grandparents Garland Thompson, Sr. and wife Diane of Morehead City; paternal aunts, Susan Roberts and husband Jack of Morehead City, Sandy Golden and husband Brad of Morehead City; maternal aunt Traci Sokolosky and husband Wade, Sr. of Beaufort; paternal uncle “Bubba” Ballou of Morehead City; maternal uncle Mical Thompson and wife Wendy of Beaufort; maternal great-aunt, Helen Jones and husband Bill of Newport, Mildred Jenkins of Trenton, Barbara Bywaters of Michigan; paternal cousins, Morgan Ballou, Camden Ballou, Crystal Cole and husband Shane, Christopher Roberts all of Morehead City; maternal cousins, Karmen Sokolosky of Beaufort, Wade Sokolosky, Jr. of California, Kaylee Thompson of Beaufort; paternal niece, Ashlyn Ballou; nephew, John Luke Ballou. Darious was also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Doris Ballou; maternal grandfather, Ralph Preston Gibson.

Family will see friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Glad Tidings Church.
