Darious Adron "D.A." Ballou III, 52, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A funeral service to honor D.A.’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6th at Glad Tidings Church, officiated by Rev. Tim Marriner. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Born on June 24, 1972, in Morehead City, North Carolina, D.A. was the beloved son of Darious Adron "D.A." Ballou Jr. and Esther Smith Ballou. He graduated with the Class of 1990 from West Carteret High School, where his athletic ability was seen on the football field and in wrestling matches. His passion for sports continued throughout his life as he remained involved with the Athletic Department, serving as the announcer for football games for over a decade. D.A. further pursued his love for sports by earning a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from East Carolina University.
D.A. was a man of many interests and talents. He owned Cubbies restaurant for eight years, a fun local spot known for its good food and warm southern hospitality. He also worked at Cor Supply and Rentals in Greenville, where he enjoyed interacting with his customers.
D.A.’s favorite pastime was being on the water, spending time on his boat, going to Shack and enjoying the beauty of the Crystal Coast.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are sons, Jacob Connor Ballou and Joshua Caden Ballou, both of Morehead City, NC; mother, Esther Smith Ballou of Morehead City, NC; his fiancé, Susan Frederick and her daughter Daisey of Morehead City, NC; brother, Mark Ballou (Jennifer) of Morehead City, NC; nieces and nephews, Adron Ballou, Kenley Ballou, MJ Ballou, and Bethany Ballou; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
D.A. was preceded in death by his father, Darious Adron “DA” Ballou Jr. and his niece, Eleanor Joy Ballou.
