Darian Michael Greenhill

Darian Michael Greenhill Sr., 53, of Newport, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at his home.

The family will celebrate his life at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at his home, 587 Tom Mann Rd, in Newport.

Darian was born on May 22, 1968, in Carteret County, North Carolina. As a true outdoorsman, Darian loved the freedom and stress-free effect of camping in nature. The fun, relaxing and adventure of kayaking was another outdoor activity he often did.

He was blessed with 12 years with his love Mary. Being together made them better and stronger. Their love and understanding helped to bring them both out of a dark place.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Greenhill of the home; daughter, Ashley Vinston and husband Zachary Vinston Sr. of Jacksonville; sons, Michael Greenhill of Jacksonville and Joshua Bloomfield of New Bern; mother, Diana Greenhill of Clarkesville, TN; sisters, Dawn Greenhill of Clarkesville, TN and Desi Chambers of Clarkesville, TN; brother, Dennis Greenhill and wife Penny of Newport; close friend who was like a brother, Chris Chambers; grandchildren, Zachary Vinston Jr., Riley Vinston and Maci Vinston; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his pets, Butch and Fatty who were like children to him.

Darian was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Greenhill.
