Danny Sowers

Danny Wayne Sowers, 66, of Beaufort, went to be with his Heavenly Father May 6, 2010, Following a long battle with cancer, he died peacefully at home.
He was born December 14, 1943 in Kokomo, IN and has resided in Carteret County since 1955. Danny retired from International Paper Co. after 26 years of service. He worked for Golden Plumbing and then, spent the next 15 years working at the State Port in Morehead City. He was well known throughout eastern North Carolina for his dancing at nursing homes and senior citizens centers. He enjoyed mechanic work, plumbing and woodworking. He will always be remembered by his beautiful smile and his love of life.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Carteret Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his partner in life of 20 years, Carol DeBerry; mother, Helen Sowers; daughters, Vicky Renfrow and husband Jim and Debby Sowers; son, Danny Wayne Sowers, Jr.; sisters, Marcia Pruett and husband Bob and Patty Lupton and husband William; brothers, Mike Sowers and Phil Sowers; brother-in-law, David Taylor; extended family, Jamie Edwards, Katherine Inabnitt, Keith Jones and Allen Jones; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Sowers and his sister, Linda Taylor.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
