Daniel F. Mullen

Daniel F. Mullen, 75, of Newport, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, at his home.

Daniel was born on May 29, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Edward J. and Margaret M. Mullen. He retired from working from the New York City Transit Authority after 20 years of service. He retired to Newport, North Carolina and worked as a mate as a pastime on the New Bern tour boat. Daniel will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Mullen; daughter, Donna Lynn Rapuzzi and husband Christopher of Brooklyn, NY; son, Daniel Mullen of Newport; and grandchildren, Christopher Rapuzzi, Christopher Mullen, Zachary Mullen, Nicholas Mullen and Nicole Rapuzzi.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday,  August 6, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.  His memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday,  August 6, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. Jim Daub. Friends are welcome to attend the service. For those unable to attend, the family invites you to view the webcasting of the service through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home. Additionally, there will be a limit to the number of people in the building at one time, as well, those who attend will be asked to bring and wear a protective mask.
