Daniel H. Kirk

Daniel H. Kirk, 76, of Broad Creek, passed away Tuesday, May ­22, 2018 at his home.

Daniel was affectionately known as “Danny Boy”. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy which included a Tour of Duty in Vietnam. He was with the NADEP Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point for 34 years as an Electronics Supervisor. He was a skilled wood worker and enjoyed flounder gigging.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elaine Kirk, of the home; daughter, Ann Sanford of Cape Carteret; son, Buck Allen and wife, Christine, of Cape Carteret; grandchildren, Matt Allen and wife, Leila, of Asheville, Cortney Sullivan of Cape Carteret, Craig Sanford of Cape Carteret; great-grandchildren, Levi Allen, Ava Sullivan, Benton Allen; nephews, George Von Hilsheimer and Jason Kirk.and his four-legged friend, Pretty Girl.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Sophia Kirk; sister, Diane Kirk; and brother, Kenneth Kirk.

Anyone wishing to pay condolences can visit the family at their home through Saturday, May 26, 2018.
