Cyrus Lindgren

Cyrus Gustav Lindgren, 89, of Pine Knoll Shores, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital.

His memorial service is at 2:00 pm Friday, April 30, at First Presbyterain Church with the Rev. Timothy Havlicek and the Rev. Bart Edwards officiating.

Mr. Lindgren was born in Centuria WI to the late Rev. Albin Lindgren and the late Thyra Anderson Lindgren. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B17 pilot flying 17 missions in the European Theater. He married Lillian Johnson on February 3, 1951 in Wilkes-Barre PA. Following his military service, Mr. Lindgren was Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Sorvall/Dupont in the Biomedical Division. He and his wife retired to Pine Knoll Shores NC in 1984.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Janet Schnarrenberger and husband Alan of Parkville MO; son John Lindgren of Wilton CT, and son Robert Lindgren and wife Heather of Ridgefield CT. His grandchildren are; Paul Gloe and wife Amiee of Sitka AK, Jeff Gloe of Newport NC, Krista Gloe of Parkville MO; John Lindgren, Jr., Alicia Lindgren, and Kelsey Lindgren of Wilton CT; and Olivia Lindgren and Wright Lindgren of Ridgefield CT; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul John Lindgren and Virgil Alvin Lindgren.
