It is with heavy hearts that we tell of the passing of Cynthia Ann Fountain. Cyndie passed the morning of Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 5 a.m., having lost a valiant battle with cancer. Unsurprisingly, she put up one heck of a fight. From her first breath to her last, Cyndie lived life with a determined and indominable spirit.
Join us as we celebrate Cyndie's life with a memorial service to be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 17th at Munden Funeral Home. There will be a reception following the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home's website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Cyndie was born in Orange County California, daughter to Gwendolyn and Captain Marcus T. Fountain. A "Marine Corps brat", Cyndie hit this earth with spitfire and personality. As a wee one she had two constant companions, her 'blankie' and best (imaginary) friend, "Turkey".
She loved toddling the beaches, chowing down on boiled shrimp and watermelon with her Florida family, and anything to do with horses.
As a young adult she adored her horse Gemini, and she was an accomplished equestrian, riding and jumping in the hunter style. You may remember her mischievous nature and there was never a soul more eager to laugh and cut up with friends.
Cyndie traded in her 4-legged horse for faster fare as an adult, a lover of her "Harley" friends. Fast and furious not only described her favorite movie franchise but was a fair description of her thirst for life.
Blessed with the love a good man, Jimmy, these past 13 years, Cyndie leaves behind many who were blessed with her zest for life. Mother Gwen, brothers Marc and Ric and older sister Candice bid her a tearful goodbye as she steps out into the arms of the Lord and her next adventures. We, and all of you who were fortunate to know this firecracker of a girl, will miss her mightily.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Cyndie's memory to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC, 27834 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
