Cory Michael Horn

Cory Michael Horn, born July 16, 1987, age 34, of Maysville, North Carolina, died at Carteret Health Care on August 26th, 2021. Cory was taken from this earth too early and will be sorely missed by all who loved him. There are no words to describe the immense pain and voids left in our hearts.

Cory was a gentle and compassionate soul, who cared about the earth and all living things on it. He loved nature and anything outdoors.  He enjoyed good food, especially sushi and apples.  Cory described himself this way:“I am the nicest person you will ever meet, I love having fun and doing anything adventurous. I like taking risks and living life to the fullest. We only live once. Just be yourself and nothing else.”

Cory is survived by his parents, Kenji and Sharon Horn of Maysville; sister, Brianna Horn Crews of Maysville; half-sister, Davina Horn of Texas; uncle, John Lockard of Newport; aunt, Joella Simons of Carteret County; and an abundance of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee Ann Justice Futrell and Henry Shelton Leegins; paternal grandparents, Theldon and Michelle Horn; and his uncle Roderick “CC” Leegins.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the medical staff at Carteret Health Care for the compassionate care that he received.

At his request, no service will be held, however, a celebration of Cory’s life will take place from 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 12th at Meadows Farms & Event Venue 161 Abbott Lane in Maysville, NC.
