Correna S. Gooding

Correna Smith Gooding, 80, of Beaufort passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Ogeechee area Hospice  in Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City with Rev. Bill Pollock officiating. Inurnment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

She was a long-standing member of the Eastern Star Beaufort Chapter #128.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Kelley and Christina Gooding both of Rincon, GA; sisters, Peggy Smith and husband Dallas of Core Creek, and May Briles and husband Ronnie of Topping, VA; grandchildren,  Christopher Kelley of Raleigh, Thomas Murphy and wife Nikki of Rincon, GA, and Caralyn Chadwick of Savannah, GA; great-grandchildren, Luke Murphy, Daniel Gillikin, and Abia Murphy; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nelson Gooding, Sr; son, Thomas Nelson Gooding, Jr;  parents, Ralph and Wyonna Smith; Jonathon Silverman, with whom she had a special bond; sister, Angie Congleton; and brother, Billy Smith.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
