Cora Ann Baysden

Cora Ann Baysden, 74, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service to honor Cora's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 7th at Munden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.  Cora will be laid to rest privately at Gales Creek Community Cemetery. 

Cora was born on September 9, 1950, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Hubert and Annie Baysden. She dedicated her life to serving others through her career as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.

Cora found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was enjoying a delicious meal or frying and eating her favorite fish, Spots. She appreciated the wholesome humor of the Andy Griffith Show which always brought a smile and laughter. Cora loved listening to music and loved the Lord. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sherry “Missy” Dudley and husband Jason of Newport; son, James “Jamie” Guthrie Jr. and wife Kathy of Mill Creek; brother, Dennis Baysden of Ohio; grandchildren, Ethan Dudley, Carson Dudley, Cooper Guthrie and wife Samantha and Zachary Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Emma Guthrie and Cassidy Guthrie; very special niece, Faye Teague; and her fur baby, Bella.

In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her siblings, Edna Lewis, Brenda Hallmark, and Mitchell Baysden.
