Connie Devine, 89, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Croatan Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Newport.
Connie was born on May 1, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late John and Kathleen Miller. Living the majority of her life in Ohio, she spent her last few years in North Carolina where she lived with her granddaughter Leila and her great-grandson Brian who helped care for her.
Connie had a strong passion for music and dancing and was a big Elvis fan who loved to hear his smooth voice and listen to all his great hits. The old tunes evoked happy emotions and memories, and of course, when a good song came on, she was sure to be dancing to the rhythm. Loving the classics, Connie always had an appreciation for vintage cars along with the nostalgia associated with times gone by.
Connie had some favorite things in life which included Bingo, Pepsi, and chocolate. She had fun with Bingo, the game of chance and nothing was better than a cold Pepsi and anything with chocolate would certainly bring a smile to her face.
Known to her loved ones as Gram or Grammy, Connie had a long legacy of loved ones who will forever cherish her role as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Devine and Maxine Kuzan, both of Youngstown, Ohio; son, Michael Devine (Aretta) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Leila Hufnagel (Adam), Brooke Gantt (Ron), Cheri Devine, Olivia Honthy, Jason Kuzan, Jacob Kuzan, Tabbatha Bennett, and Michael Devine II; great-grandchildren, Brian (Hallie), Alaina “Lainey”, Raign, Jordan, Jackie, Jalen, Scot, Noah, Emily, Gracelyn, Abagail, Ronald II, Scarlette, Michael, Jared, Nathaniel, Judah, and Brylee; and great-great-grandchildren, Ryan, Isaac, Aaliyah, Mya, Alyssa, Jazlyn, Jace, and Malcolm.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her sons, Ronald Devine, Frank Devine and John Devine; grandsons, John Devine, James Kuzan Jr., Jon Kuzan, and Adam Devine; and great-great-granddaughter, Hayley Kuzan.
The family will celebrate her life in her home state of Ohio.
