Clyde Wesley Daugherty

Clyde Wesley Daugherty, 75, of New Bern, NC, formerly of Sea Level, NC died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held 11:00 am Friday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Linebarger and Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Nelson Bay Cemetery.

After discharge from service in the U.S. Army, Mr. Daugherty was employed as a lab technician at Sea Level Hospital, Carteret General Hospital and New Bern Family Practice until retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of Sea Level United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Catherine Daugherty of New Bern; children, Teresa Gillikin and husband, Andy of Williston, Osborne Harvey and wife, Kimberly of Atlantic, Duke Daugherty and wife, Ronnie of Williston, and Vanessa Daugherty and fiancé, David Ballou of Morehead City; brother, Pat Daugherty and wife, Connie of Asbury; sister, Gail Cox and husband, Don of Cedar Point; grandchildren, Landon Gillikin, Peyton Gillikin, Amanda Harvey, and Sheldon Daugherty; aunts, Mattie and Mae; also numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Dail Daugherty and Clyde Simpson Daugherty.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
