Clifford “Cliff” Darrell Lewis Sr., 80, of Harkers Island, passed from this life on Saturday January 14, 2017 at his home while surrounded by family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Free Grace Wesleyan Church of Harkers Island with Rev. Curtis Goings officiating.
Cliff was a member of the Free Grace Wesleyan Church of Harkers Island. He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959. He lived in Rhode Island for many years while he worked for Levitan Manufacturing Company. He then moved back home to Carteret County and lived in Beaufort. He would later retire from a career with the North Carolina Marine Fisheries.
He is survided by his wife Priscilla Lewis; daughter Diana Mades; three sons, Thomas Beauchamp, Robert Beauchamp, and Darrel Beauchamp; grandson of the home, Tommy Beauchamp; stepdaughter, Greta Smith; grandson, Gene Mitchell; granddaughters, Belinda Mades and Melanie Goodwin; two great-grandchildren, four brothers, Mack O’Neal, J.D. O’Neal, Toby O’Neal, and Ben O’Neal; two sisters, Helene McCabe and Kay O’Neal; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mert Lewis; son, Clifford Lewis Jr.; mother, Lillie Bell O’Neal; and brother, Robert Wayne O’Neal.
