Claudette James Simpson

Lillian “Claudette” Simpson, 85, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Rev. Taylor Mills officiating.

Claudette never knew a stranger. She loved and cared for her family and the love of her life, her husband of 65 years, Edgar Simpson, Jr. who loved her equally throughout the years. She was a beloved daughter to her parents and siblings, and to her children and their spouses, she was a beloved mother and best friend.

“Aunt Dette” would like to thank doctors, Dr. Dean Marson, Dr. CV and Dr. Alonzo Davis, IV, all caregivers who were by her side during her journey, and all hospital staff from Carteret Health Care.

In addition to her husband Edgar, she is survived by her daughter, Pamela King of Morehead City, currently of Virginia; son, Edgar Simpson, III and wife Polly of Newport; brother, Robert “Bobby” Samuel James and wife Susan of Mount Olive; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonso Hamilton James and Alma Davis James; and a son-in-law, John M. King.
