Claire Dean (Moore) Turnage

Claire Dean Turnage, 73, of Newport, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Bartholomew officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
She was a longtime member of Church of God of Newport and attended Community Baptist Church in Newport.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Henry Turnage of the home; three sons, Robert Allen Hunter, Jr. of Newport, Michael Edward Hunter and wife Donna of Raleigh, and Joseph Earl Hunter and wife Tonya of Newport; daughter, Debra Gail Graham and husband, Charles of Newport; seven grandchildren, Robert Allen Hunter, III, Michael Edward Hunter, Jr., Alana Beth Hunter, Robert Henry Miller, Robert Ethan Ballou, Kayley Danielle Miller and Hayden Cole Hunter; five great-grandchildren, Skyler Addisyn Plisko, Hunter Jace Plisko, Jeremiah Brian Holt, Sonny Claire Guthrie and Gabriel Liam Hunter; six brothers and sisters, Betty Peterson, Alma Smith, David Moore and wife Sandra, Mitchell Moore and wife Carla, Donna Dipietrantonio and husband Joe and Sandy Bulkley and husband Bill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nannie Moore and her first husband, Robert Allen Hunter.
She was a loving and caring wife and mother who lived for her family and God.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
