Chuck Meeks

Chuck Meeks, 77, of Newport, passed away Saturday, June 1­, 2019, at Carteret Health Care.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. John B. Thompson, Jr.

Chuck proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps for 10 years, including serving in the Vietnam War. His strong work ethic and leadership skills placed him as Manager of Sears where he worked for 20 years. In his younger years, he was a boxer and earned his Golden Gloves of which he was quite proud of.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joy Meeks of the home; sons, James Meeks and wife Jeanette of Kernersville and John Meeks and wife Renee’ of High Point; and grandchildren, Jessica Meeks, James Meeks, Jr., Gavin Meeks, Allorah Meeks and Autumn Meeks.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Frank Meeks.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
