Christine Jane Ryan, 44, mom to daughter Grace, and son's Sean and Isaac; sister to Jen Maguire, Kim Nedeau, Rich Thalmann, Matt Thalmann and Jack Thalmann; daughter to Pete Thalmann and stepmom Karen Thalmann, joins her spiritual soulmates Jane Thalmann (her mother who passed when she was 16) and Mary Rowlinson (her grandmother with whom she had a special bond) in a place that is better than here on this earth.
Chrissy Ryan was from Hopkinton, Holliston, Norfolk, Amherst, but most comfortable on the warm beaches of Cape Cod, California, and North Carolina. Chrissy was lovingly called Chria in her inner circle.
Chrissy was known as a creative genius. Her life's work started two decades ago on the beaches of California where she brainstormed the characters in her book, Clueberry World, a navigational book that teaches mindfulness and emotional intelligence to children. She dedicated her work to her three children, "My little geniuses, my beautiful vision seekers, you are my heart. With this book, I am with you always and forever. You are Clueberry Warriors. Don't ever forget to question your fear." Nothing was more important to Chrissy than her three children. We'll always picture her dancing around the kitchen, music at full-volume, first with a child on each hip and then hand-in-hand as they grew older.
Chrissy was a 1996 graduate of Holliston High School, a 2000 graduate of Boston College where she received a BA in English Literature; her classmates remember her fondly. She received her MA in Education from Lesley University and later went on to pursue her PhD in Education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
She is now back on the beaches in her favorite places walking hand-in-hand with her mom and her Grammy.
All are invited to a celebration of her life on Monday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m., held at St. John's Parish Hall, 20 Church Street, Hopkinton, MA. Guest will have an opportunity to share their memories. Light lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ryan Family IRRV Trust and sent to C/O Kim Nedeau, 206 Pratt Corner Road, Leverett MA 01054. The trust will be used for her three children for educational and medical expenses as needed.
