Cheryl Ann Shoptaugh

Cheryl Ann Shoptaugh, 64, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Born on June 11, 1959, in Evansville, Indiana, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Hubert and Cindy Phelps.
 
Cheryl's life was marked by her immense love for animals, with a special place in her heart for cats and dogs. Her kind and charitable nature touched the lives of many furry companions in need. Cheryl's generosity knew no bounds as she dedicated herself to various causes close to her heart.
 
For 48 years, Cheryl shared an unwavering bond of love and partnership with her beloved husband Don. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges hand in hand, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love.
 
Above all else, Cheryl cherished her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her nurturing spirit and selfless dedication shaped a warm and welcoming home. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 
 
In addition to her loving husband Don Shoptaugh, Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Casey Williams of Hubert, NC and Faith Adamson (Chris) of Newport, NC; son, Andy Shoptaugh (Julie) of Newport, NC; sister, Roxanne Phelps (Joe Carlino) of Wisconsin; brother, Tim Phelps (Barbara Hales) of Indiana; and grandchildren, Hailey Shoptaugh, Hana Williams, Caleb Adamson, Noah Constantine, Drew Shoptaugh, Blake Adamson, Avery Adamson, and Sara Kramnick.

A memorial service to honor Cheryl’s life will be held at a later date.
